RICHLAND COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A fatal crash in Monroe Township is currently under investigation by the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on December 26, 2023, around 6:22 AM, on Pleasant Valley Road west of SR 603.
The driver, Bonnie J. Bogdan, 73, of Perrysville, was traveling west in a 2012 Honda Pilot on Pleasant Valley Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck a culvert and ditch embankment, crossed a driveway access, and hit another ditch before coming to a halt. Bogdan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Assistance at the scene was provided by Mifflin and Monroe Township Fire, the Richland County Coroner’s Office, and Terry’s Towing.
The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
