MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mansfield Post, is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Vanderbilt Road, near the intersection of Middle Bellville Road. The incident involved a 2018 Dodge Durango, on March 16, 2024, at approximately 11:18 P.M.
The driver, Shawn McNamara, 48, of Bellville, was traveling eastbound on Vanderbilt Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree. McNamara was transported from the scene to Ohio Health Mansfield by Washington Township EMS, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Several agencies assisted in the investigation, including the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Township Fire & EMS, and Mike’s Towing. The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause.
