BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)–On Monday evening, Brianna Farnsworth was crowned this year’s 2024 Crawford County Fair Queen.

A 17-year-old senior at Colonel Crawford, Farnsworth is a member of the Dairy Maids & Gents 4-H club, where she completed the art project and Edible Landscaping.

Farnsworth said that because she doesn’t show animals, she wanted to run for queen to be more involved in the fair. “Since I don’t show any animals, I have a lot of free time during fair week, so I can help out more.”

When looking to give advice to younger kids in 4-H debating on running for royalty, Farnsworth encouraged anyone thinking about it to do it.

“Even if you don’t think you have the confidence, it will help you gain more confidence. And what I would say to get more people to do it, is it is really fun and I am really looking forward to having fun will all of these girls that I get to spend more time with,” Farnsworth said.

Over the next year as queen, Farnsworth hopes to spread the word about the Crawford County Fair.

“Crawford fair butts up right against state fair, so a lot of people don’t come because they are looking more towards the state fair than a small county fair.”

Farnsworth thanked her mom and dad for supporting her through it and her advisor for pushing her to do it.

This year’s first attendant is Gracie Stirm, a senior at Colonel Crawford High School, this year’s second attendant is Linnea Gerlach, a recent Wynford High School graduate who plans to attend Syracuse in the fall, and this year’s princess is Trinity Spackey, a sophomore at Ontario High School.

There were no candidates for king or prince this year.
