(CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Women’s History Month is celebrated nationally during the month of March, and McDonald’s is proud to have many outstanding female employees, franchisees, and suppliers among its leaders. In the United States, women own and operate 30 percent of all McDonald’s restaurants. One of those is located right in Crawford County.
Jessica Hall is a second-generation owner/operator. Her father, brother, and other extended family members were all McDonald’s Owner/Operators, though she initially followed the path of education, starting as an elementary teacher and working towards a master’s degree in educational leadership.
“During my studies, I realized I could apply everything I was learning in a new and exciting way, by returning to the family business,” said Hall. “With a strong desire to combine my background in education with the leadership skills I had developed, I made the decision to rejoin McDonald’s and carry on the legacy that my family started. Our strengths complement each other, and together, we’ve been able to build a business that not only thrives but has a meaningful impact on the lives of our employees and the communities we serve.”
Hall is also a mother. She has found a special connection to Ronald McDonald House Charities, where she was able to stay with her family after her daughter was born prematurely.
“We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House for four weeks, receiving a warm place to stay, daily meals, and most importantly, love and support during a time of uncertainty. That experience has only strengthened our commitment to giving back to this incredible organization and the families it serves.”
After 12 years in the business, Hall now owns 10 McDonald’s restaurants in Ohio. She oversees a team of over 1300 employees, many of whom are also women in crew in leadership roles. She says that she is inspired every day by the chance to make a positive difference not only in the lives of her employees but also in the communities she serves.
“Recently, our organization was honored with the Columbus Field Office Community Award, which recognized the incredible work our team members are doing in our communities,” Hall said. “To me, this award represents more than just business success—it’s a testament to the values we hold dear and the positive culture we strive to create.”
