GALION — A kitchen fire left a Galion family without a home Thursday morning.
Two pets, a dog and a ferret perished in the fire as well.
According to Firefighter Neil Evans, the home located at 521 E. Atwood St., in Galion was heavily damaged in the kitchen area. The fire occurred around 7 a.m.
Three adults and a 10-day old infant escaped injury.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
