The Junior Fair livestock shows are more than an opportunity for kids to demonstrate their ability to raise and show fair animals. For many it amounts to a summer job or a way to add to their college funds.

Again this year, FC Bank is offering local Junior Fair livestock participants a way to increase the check they receive from the annual livestock sale.

“We’ve been doing it for quite a few years,” Ashley Snyder said. “We’re really starting to push it this year.”

For those who deposit their livestock sale checks into a six-month CD at the bank, FC Bank will add an additional 10 percent to their CD up to $25, plus donate that same amount to the livestock organization of their choice such as 4-H or FFA.

“The kids just need to bring their fair check with them, and if they are under 16 they must have an adult with them,” Snyder said.

The Sale of Champions is this evening and tomorrow is the balance of the Junior Fair Livestock Sale.
