The speculation of what the schedule for the grandstand for the 2015 Crawford County Fair will be was put to rest Wednesday night during the Crawford County Fair Board meeting.

With the loss of Fair Jam on the Thursday night of the fair, the Fair Board announced that country musician RaeLynn will perform at 7:30 p.m. July 23 along with the Marion, Ohio band, Steel Creek.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on May 9 at the Senior Fair Board Office at the Crawford County Fairgrounds.

The 20-year-old RaeLynn had the highest charting debut single by a solo female artist with her 2014 Top 20 hit “God Made Girls.” She’s been selected as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country and has performed at The Grand Ole Opry. RaeLynn is featured on Blake Shelton’s newest album and is on tour with Miranda Lambert. She also competed on season two of The Voice where she made it to the quarterfinals before being eliminated.

Other events scheduled for the grand stand at the fair are: The Demolition Derby at 6 p.m. on Sunday; the Figure 8 Truck and Car Races at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 20; KOI drag racing at 7 p.m. on Tuesday; harness racing will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday; state-sanctioned truck/tractor pull will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday; the Stock Truck Pull will close out the grandstand at the Crawford County Fair at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Fair Board also set aside Saturday, June 13 for the return of motorcycle racing to the Crawford County Fairgrounds.

Mike Hoffman appeared before the Fair Board and announced approval for a grant of $12,000 with $10,900 going towards the construction of the sales barn, and $1,100 to help fix up the FFA barn. Hoffman asked the Fair Board if they could donate $3,000 in order to help with renovations on the FFA barn. The Fair Board will discuss the matter further before deciding whether to commit to the project or not.

The Fair Board approved setting a price of $1,000 for materials in order to add siding to barn #34 on the Fairgrounds.

The Fair Board also approved setting Feb. 6, 2016 as the date for the 2016 Gun Raffle.

In 4-H Extension Educator Allison Cooper‘s report, she noted that a Camp Counselor fundraiser at the Galion Pizza Hut would take place on May 19. For every buffet meal purchased, $3 will be donated to the Camp Counselor Fundraiser. Cooper also mentioned that parking at United Bank during the Bratwurst Festival will go towards the camp, and camp counselors.

The next Crawford County Senior Fair Board meeting will take place at 8 p.m. on April 29.
