The Crawford County Fair Board is currently looking for an ambulance service to for the fair as well as the Steve Nace Motorcycle Races June 13.

During Secretary/Treasurer Tom Laughbaum’s report to the Fair Board on Wednesday Laughbaum noted that the ambulance service that had been acquired for the events has now declined to provide those services. The Fair Board is currently looking at three different ambulance service providers to be on the grounds for those dates.

The Fair Board approved testing poultry on display at the county fair for avian flu. While Ohio has yet to have a reported case of the illness, 20 states have reported cases with 10 states canceling their poultry events at their fairs.

The Crawford County Fair Board voted down, 7 to 6, taking half of the money from the gun raffle and placing it in the community foundation account in case of future emergencies Wednesday night. Currently a portion of the funds will be used to help renovate three buildings at the fairgrounds. Those barns are scheduled to be completed by July 4.

In the Junior Fair Board’s report to the Crawford County Fair Board they noted that $500 had been raised to help pay for maintenance and repairs of the fairgrounds. The Junior Fair Board also volunteered to help with painting.

The next Crawford County Fair Board meeting will take place at 8 p.m. June 24 in the Youth Building.
