An event that hasn’t been featured at the Crawford County Fair in quite some time was discussed at the Fair Board meeting Wednesday night.

Kim Addison proposed the idea of bringing in Steve Nance Racing Promotions for a flat track motorcycle race during the Crawford County Fair Board’s minutes to the public portion of their meeting. Addressing the fair board, Addison explained that cost for running a race would be $14,000, but has the possibility to bring in $30,000 to the fair.

The fair board decided to table the idea until further information can be gained from Steve Nance Racing Promotions.

The Crawford County Fair Board also tabled announcing entertainment for the 2014 edition of the county fair. While attending the Ohio Fair Managers Association (OFMA) Convention in January, the fair board representative will look for fair entertainment ideas.

The fair board approved to reimburse 2013 Crawford County Junior Fair Queen Sara Gebhardt $100 for the entrance fee to the Ohio Fair Queen Competition in January, as well as pay $118 for the Hotel Room during the weekend of the competition.

The fair board approved to give the fair judges’ fees a raise by $50 Wednesday night. Livestock judges will now be paid $250 for the Crawford County Fair.

The Americettes will be charged $50 per month for use of the Crawford County Fairgrounds after the fair board approved charging the facility use fee by a vote of 10-3 Wednesday night. The move was done to offset the costs incurred by the fair for usage of the grounds.

The fair board approved to keep their pay rate the same for the 2014 year. The fair board currently earns $25 per meeting.

Brenda Young announced 4-H dates to the fair board Wednesday night with the 4-H kick off scheduled for March 2, 2014.

The next Crawford County Fair Board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the Crawford County Senior Fair Board Office.
