The Crawford County Fair Board approved the butcher for the Junior Fair champion livestock at its meeting Wednesday night.

Links was approved to process the champions sold at the Sale of Champions. The catch to using Links is that the animals won’t be picked up until the Sunday following the fair.

The Fair Board gave its approval for the Poultry Committee to make repairs to the current poultry building with the exception of the spouting due to pricing. The Fair Board also asked that the Poultry Committee get another estimate on the doors for the building with a general feeling that the estimate to repair the doors is on the high side.

The Fair Board voted against allowing use of the race track for motorcycle racing practice due to the liability factor that would come with allowing use of the course.

Sean Dornan of Dornan Golf Cart Sales approached the Fair Board Wednesday night looking to bridge the gap with Eagle Golf Cart who provides golf cart rental to the fair. Dornan explained that in talking with Eagle Golf Cart that they would have to back out of the current contract with the fair due to a larger order obligation. The Fair Board noted Eagle Golf Cart would have to be contacted to confirm the issue, but it did approve using Dornan’s services if Eagle did indeed leave the current contract.

The Fair Board agreed to provide eggs to the Junior Fair Board for their egg toss.

In Allison Cooper’s 4-H report she noted that enrollment is currently being held for 4-H. Cooper said QA is being offered for younger members. Those members need to pre-register by April 5, with the first 25 being able to participate in the QA on April 25.

IB Tech representative Walter Laser appeared before the Fair Board to extend a helping hand through that company. In Laser’s presentation to the board he noted that IB Tech is under new management and would like to become more active in the community.
