No one in Galion or Crestline was asking who let the dogs out on Monday, but rather who turned the lights out.

An issue with transmission lines owned by First Energy, the parent company of Ohio Edison, led to a power outage in Galion that lasted approximately four hours for some customers. That outage also affected some in the Crestline area.

The problem began just before noon on Monday. The issue was eventually traced to a downed wire on a utility pole on the east side of Galion. The cross arm on the pole apparently broke off.

Power was restored to those in Galion between 3:30 and 4 o’clock on Monday afternoon. Approximately 6,000 electric customers in Galion were affected.
