MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A fatal shooting incident occurred at a residence in Mansfield, Ohio, in the early hours of the morning, according to local law enforcement.
Police responded to a call at 29 Minerva Ave. around 4:11 a.m., after a male subject reported that he had shot another man who was allegedly armed with a knife. Upon arrival, Mansfield Police Officers discovered a 30-year-old male victim, deceased inside a bedroom.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim sustained a single gunshot wound, which resulted in his death. The Richland County Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
Major Crimes detectives are currently gathering additional information. The suspect, who has been identified, was arrested on an unrelated felony warrant. Further details will be released as they become available.
