After honoring the school of St. Bernard’s in February, it was the church’s turn to be honored Monday night.

During his statement before presenting the parish with a plaque, Mayor Ben Lash reiterated that the village’s schools and churches are mainstays in the village that provide many services to its residents.

During his report, Village Police Chief Jeff Shook requested updated wording on the village’s solicitation application forms. Shook provided examples of other forms from various Crawford County communities.

Norm Lucius gave an update on the water pressure issues that the village experienced Monday morning. During his report to council Monday night, Lucius explained that the water in the water tower had been drained for cleaning and disinfection. Lucius noted that wasn’t what had caused the drop in water pressure, but a water line break by Mickey Mart. Lucius added that the line had been fixed and that water pressure should have returned to normal within the village.

Lucius also reported that during the draining of the water tower, the leak that was once in the tower was also repaired.

New Washington Village Council approved the donation of a new bench that will sit outside of the library.
