BUCYRUS―After several complaints and tips from local residents, another drug house has been shut down in Bucyrus.
According to Bucyrus Dave Koepke, the Crawford County Special Response Unit in conjunction with METRICH, raided a residence at 115 Wallace Avenue on Thursday afternoon. The Special Response Unit includes members of the Bucyrus, Galion and Crestline Police Departments, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucyrus Fire Department and METRICH.
Koepke said around 400 doses of methamphetamine and heroin were seized from the residence that had been altered in an attempt to thwart off law enforcement. The street value of the drugs confiscated is around $10,000 per 100 doses. Cash and drug paraphernalia were also seized.
“Four people were arrested and official charges are pending,” said Koepke. “They were going to Columbus to purchase the drugs and bringing them back here to sell.”
He said the charges will be felonies and will include engaging in a pattern of corruption, possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs and complicity.
“It was a really busy drug house with a lot of activity so there will be a lot of disappointed drug users. They need to reach out for help before we get to them next,” said Koepke.
The police department offers the Operation Hope program for those who want to stop using. For residents who want to give tips on drug dealing, they can share the information by visiting METRICH.com and clicking on “Submit a Tip.”
