BUCYRUS — A 29-year-old female inmate who died at the Crawford County Justice Center has been identified.
The inmate has been identified as Alyssa M. Griffith of Mansfield.
Griffith was found unresponsive Dec. 5 at approximately 1:04 a.m. while staff conducted routine checks.
Staff administered CPR until Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service and the Bucyrus Fire Department arrived on scene. CPR was unsuccessful and the inmate was pronounced deceased.
The Crawford County Coroner was called to the jail and an autopsy is being conducted by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death is not known at this time.
An outside agency has been requested to investigate the inmate’s death. No further details are available at this time.
