BUCYRUS―Due to a lower than anticipated response seeking candidates for the 2019 Bratwurst Festival Queen’s Pageant, the Bratwurst Festival, Inc. Board of Directors has extended the deadline for applications to be postmarked by June 21, 2019.
Contestants must be a current resident of Buckeye Central, Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford, or Wynford School District, and must be between the ages of 16-19, as of August 1, 2019.
The Queen is eligible for a $1000 scholarship, while the first runner up is eligible for $500 and the second runner up $300.
Bratwurst Festival, Inc. Board President Amanda Myers said, “The low response to the pageant can be attributed to the busy lifestyles of today’s youth. Extra-curricular activities are at an all-time high and are competing for time. We believe that being chosen to represent the Bratwurst Festival is a positive experience that will forever be a part of these girls’ lives. When you stand and look at the wall in our headquarters of the portraits of the 52 previous Queens’, you see many familiar faces. These young women have gone on to be extremely successful in their lives. Many will tell you that the year they represented our festival was one of the best years of their lives”.
A copy of the application may be found on the festival’s website.
