BUCYRUS— Despite the fact there is currently not a Crawford County Relay for Life event planned for this summer for the first time in several years, local groups are still holding fundraisers for the American Cancer Society.

The DBC (Dedicated to Battling Cancer) Relay for Life group will be holding its annual Harley Davidson Motorcycle reverse raffle on June 30.

Team DBC was formed in honor of Jean Teynor Hewitt who was diagnosed with cancer in 1999. She lost her battle in 2001.

“We created the team as a tribute to Jean,” said Jerome “Turtle” Teynor.

DBC was the top money-raising team in Crawford County for over a decade and has raised over $300,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The doors for the raffle will open at 5 p.m. at the Crawford County Fairgrounds Youth Building on June 30 with a meal being served at 5:30 p.m.

One lucky winner will take home a 2018 two-tone Street Bob or $12,000. Tickets are $100 each which includes entry, dinner and the raffle. There will also be a DJ, 50/50 drawing, Bingo and other games of chance.
