The Dairy Maids and Gents club met on Thursday May 11, 2017. The club’s fundraiser was collected, and there was a reminder that the clover bud fun day will be on June 29th. The theme for this year’s fun day is Doctor Seuss.

The pledges where led by Carter and Tanner Piper. The health report was about what foods are healthy foods and how much to eat of those foods.

Do you know what one of the most dangerous activities that everyone does in their home? Believe it or not, it is sleeping. The club learned this in the safety report given by a volunteer firefighter. The reason that this activity is so dangerous is because when you are sleeping your sense of smell and sight are gone. If there happened to be a fire when you are sleeping you could not smell or see it. This makes having a working smoke detector so very important to have in everyone’s home.

Demonstrations were given by Austin and Lydia Strouse, Caitlin Koschnick, Bailey Rossman, Lauren Esterline, Lane Bauer, and Maria Smith. The clover buds had fun making rain gauges.

The next Dairy Maids and Gents meeting will take place Tuesday, May 30th at 6:00pm at Lowe Volk Nature Center. Please note time and location as this is a change from original schedule.
