BUCYRUS, OH—A hit and run incident unfolded on Stetzer Rd. near Stephanie Dr. in Liberty Township. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle. The response included Fire and EMS services, along with Deputies who arrived at the scene to investigate.
Thomas Moon, a 68-year-old resident of Bucyrus, Ohio, was identified as the cyclist involved in the collision.
Reports indicate that Moon was riding his bike eastbound on Stetzer Rd. when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene, leaving Moon injured.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a possibly small SUV or minivan, dark blue or black in color.
Following the incident, Moon was transported to Bucyrus Community Hospital for initial treatment before being transferred to Mansfield Med Central for further care of his non-life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run incident are currently under investigation by authorities.
