A few four-legged friends received a little bit of comfort at the Humane Society Serving Crawford County courtesy of one of the local Cub Scout packs.

Cub Scout Pack 106 made and donated dog beds for the small dogs at the Humane Society and a few larger beds for larger breeds.

The donation came after the Humane Society Serving Crawford County spoke to the Cub Scouts during camp weekend at Camp Michael January 14. During the presentation, Humane Society Serving Crawford County Director Victoria Carmean, along with a few Humane agents, discussed what they do at the shelter.

About a week or so later, the Humane Society was greeted by the Cub Scout pack with beds that had been made by the group.

Carmean was very appreciative of the gesture.

“It is just really wonderful that the community at large is so giving,” Carmean said. “They trust what we do and want to help care for the cats and dogs here at the shelter.”
