BUCYRUS—After a one-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bucyrus Fraternal Order of Police, Inc. Lodge #68 was able to hold the annual car show and are announcing the winners of the 2021 Cruisin’ with the Cops that was held on June 12 in downtown Bucyrus.

“Unfortunately, due to COVID, the FOP car show was unable to be held in 2020. But, in Bucyrus-fashion, the community bounced right back in 2021, and we had an incredible show,” said Bucyrus Police Captain Tom Walker. “The streets were filled with the smell of exhaust and the sounds of engines roaring, as attendees cruised, laughed, ate and had a great time socializing. There were happy, smiling faces lining Sandusky Avenue from Mary to Oakwood, and excitement was in the air.”

He said that many people, young and old, marveled at the craftsmanship and beauty of classic cars.

“Nearly every manufacturer of vehicle was represented, and there was certainly no shortage of chrome to put a gleam in the eye. Vendors provided amazing food and treats in the area of Schine’s Art Park, while muscle cars, convertibles, trucks and station wagons alike, lapped around the downtown area.  Cruisin’ music filled the air, piped in courtesy of WQEL,” Walker said,

He said there were a total of 536 entries in this year’s car show, which was a little less than expected.

“But an increase over previous years.  All proceeds collected by FOP #68 will be donated right back into the community via programs, such as Bucyrus Little League, Bucyrus Area Soccer, Crawford County 4-H, and Fair, as well as sponsorship of traveling sports teams, local scholarships, and more,” he said.

Walker said FOP #68 would like to express gratitude to local business partners, car clubs and the community for embracing this event and making it successful.

“We are excited to see everyone again in 2022,” said Walker.
