Crime doesn’t take the holidays off as five people found themselves on the wrong side of the law just before Christmas in Crawford County.
Bucyrus police arrested twenty-nine-year-old Jeremiah Dupler at Walmart on Dec. 23 for shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant. He was also served with a summons for abandoning animals. Dupler was issued a date to appear in court and was released.
Mariann Johnson, 41, Bucyrus was arrested at Bucyrus’ Wal-Mart when an officer from Bucyrus’ Police Department answered an assault complaint between two patrons at 4:29 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Johnson was arrested for assault and resisting arrest and cited for driving on an expired driver’s license. She was issued with 2 criminal summonses and a citation and released with a pending court appearance.
At 7:27 p.m. Bucyrus police responded to a larceny complaint on Woodlawn Ave. Briona Rose, 19, was arrested for an active warrant out of Crawford County and for Theft. She was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court or bond.
Jason Daniel was arrested for OVI by Galion police at 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday. Daniel was arrested after a phone call reporting that a truck had run into a tree by the Dollar General Store at 880 Harding Way East. Ronks Towing was contacted to remove Daniel’s truck.
Jason Speer was picked up on Warrant out of Ontario at Galion’s McDonald’s at 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Speer had evaded police the previous day when a report that he was working on a roof in the 1,100 block of Oliver Street turned up empty handed.
