BUCYRUS — A Shelby woman was the victim of a fatal crash on Crestline Road early Wednesday morning.
Julie Plew, 32, was the lone victim in the single-vehicle crash in Whetstone Township near the intersection of Crestline and Chamber roads.
According to a report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the department responded to Crestline Road shortly after 1:30 a.m.
After initial investigations, it was found the 1999 blue Chevrolet driven by Plew appeared to have been traveling eastbound on Crestline Road when it went off the left side of the roadway and down into a ditch. The vehicle exited the ditch and went airborne, striking a utility pole and tree. The vehicle continued to travel eastbound and began to rotate and struck another tree before coming to rest.
Whetstone Township Volunteer Fire Department, Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation and further information will be released at a later time as it is provided by the sheriff’s office.
