BUCYRUS — Emergency crews braved single-digit wind-chill temperatures while responding to a multi-vehicle injury crash Wednesday morning.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper T.J. Kohls, a man driving a gray Dodge Ram 3500, which was pulling a trailer, collided head-on with another vehicle on Ohio 19 shortly after 6 a.m.

According to initial reports, a man was driving the Dodge truck was traveling on Ohio 19 near its intersection with Spore Brandywine Road north of Bucyrus, when the man drove left-of-center and struck a green Ford F-150.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage to their front ends.

The Ford came to rest in a ditch on the west side of the road while the Dodge stopped on the north end of the crash scene, blocking the state highway.

The driver of the F-150 was transported by Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Services to Bucyrus Community Hospital for minor injuries.

A third vehicle in the crash, a Nissan Juke, sustained minor damage to its rear bumper as it was hit during the incident.

Kohls said charges are pending against the driver of the Dodge as a result of the crash.

Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department, Hensley’s Towing and Recovery and Knecht’s Auto Recycling also responded to the scene.
