CRESTLINE/BLOOMVILLE — Two simultaneous fires called for the response of multiple emergency crews Wednesday afternoon forcing the agencies to battle dangerous subzero temperatures along with the blazes.

Multiple crews including Tiro-Auburn and Whetstone volunteer fire departments, Crestline Fire Department, New Washington Fire Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service and AEP Ohio responded to a house fire in the 7000 block of German Road.

At the same time multiple crews including Lykins, Chatfield, Holmes, Sycamore and McCuthcenville fire departments, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service AEP Ohio and American Red Cross were battling a blaze in the 7000 block of Miller Road.

An individual at the scene, who wished to not be named, said he believed everyone had made it out of the house on Miller Road.

 

 

The same appeared to be true on German Road.

The scenes are still active and motorists should use caution if it is necessary to travel in those areas.
