BUCYRUS – Katrina Miller, 36 was back in court via video arraignment on Monday, March 1. Katrina Miller and her husband John Miller, 36, both of Crestline each originally pleaded guilty to two counts of child endangering. A 13-year-old had been held in the home without proper food for a long period of time. The boy escaped and went to another home for help. The residents alerted police and the child was taken immediately for medical treatment.

The child had only been allowed a bowl of grapes and almonds to eat and was severely malnourished as a result, weighing only 65 pounds. It was also revealed that some years ago the boy was diagnosed with leukemia. However, his parents did not follow-up with Children’s Hospital for treatment. He was also home-schooled.

Katrina Miller was granted judicial release with the following restrictions, no alcohol, no drugs, no violations of law, and must report to a probation officer.  It is believed that Miller was influenced by a gentleman who was advocating a certain diet over the internet and was trying to sell his products to her and that she meant no harm to the child. She does not have custody of either of her children.
