Crestline Village Council selected its newest member during a special meeting Wednesday night.

After interviewing and deliberating for over an hour, the Council selected Edward Allen Moore as its newest member. Moore is a 1974 Crestline graduate and has been active within the Crestline community. He served as president of Crestline Junior Baseball for six years, has been active in the Crestline/Galion Masonic Temple, and currently is the secretary for Crestline Eagles.

Moore replaced Ryan Mahek, who announced his resignation on Jan. 14. That now leaves one vacant seat after Mike Blaising stepped down effective Feb. 14 after 25 years on council.

Council member Clayton Herold announced that Blaising’s position will become available at the next council meeting on Monday.

Crestline Village Council has seen revolving door of members recently. It has had four resignations by council members since October, some of which resulted from conflicts with Mayor David Sharrock.
