Crestline’s Village Council has had a lot of comings and goings going back to last fall. The latest to come on board is Joy Miley who was approved to fill the seat of Aaron Buckner who resigned in April when he moved out of state.

Miley is a lifelong Crestline resident.

joy miley“I’m really excited and really honored to have been chosen for the position,” Miley said. “Looking forward to learning some things and getting into some new things and seeing what Crestline has ahead of us.”

Two people applied for Buckner’s seat. Miley, a Crestline High School graduate, was sworn in following her selection as a member of council at Wednesday’s special meeting. All six seats on Village Council are now filled, five by appointees.

Of the six seats on Village Council, only Clayton Herold has been elected by Crestline voters. The other five – Miley, Gene Toy, Edward Allen Moore, Allen Laferty and Tina Swartz – were all appointed to fill seats vacated by elected council members.

Some of those seats were vacated because of council members moving out of the village. Others were over disagreements with the village administration. The Village Council has had all seats filled for approximately one month since last October when the string of resignations began. That was short-lived when Buckner resigned in April.
