CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crestline Athletic Department announced via social media that Friday’s boys basketball game against St. Pete’s will be restricted to parents and family members only, with no students permitted to attend.
Crawford County Now contacted Crestline High School Athletic Director Chandler Wilhelm for further clarification regarding the decision. He stated that the restriction was implemented in response to instances of poor behavior from fans.
UPDATE
The following statement was released today on the Crestline Bulldogs Athletics Facebook page:
“We have had discussions with St. Pete’s and numerous involved parties. This is still our recommendation; however, we will not be restricting anyone from attending. There will be law enforcement present as well as multiple administrators. Please remember to uphold all of our school’s values of integrity and sportsmanship. Please represent Crestline well, there will be zero tolerance for any unsportsmanlike behavior.”
