CRESTLINE — Crestline Exempted Village Schools has updated its meal plan for feeding families.

Beginning Wednesday, April 15, the Crestline school district will be handing out meals on Monday’s and Wednesday’s only, moving from a five-day distribution plan.

With this updated meal distribution plan, families will receive the same number of meals as would be handed out over the five-day week. On Monday’s, the school district will distribute two days’ worth of meals which will include two lunches and two breakfasts. On Wednesday, the district will distribute three days’ worth of meals to families.

The district Backpack program in partnership with Emmanuel’s Bread will continue to operate, distribute and deliver weekend meals on Friday each week.

“We are changing this process in order to address safety concerns during the pandemic,” Superintendent Matt Henderson said. “By reducing this process to two days, we can limit the interaction of people in the building and reduce the amount of time our families have to leave their home.

“It is our intent to safely return to a more robust meal program and include using district transportation for meal delivery, when are able.  We will communicate that information to our families.”

Parents can access a Crestline Family Survey on the Crestline School District website and Facebook page if there is specific meal assistance or other supports that the school district can provide to families.
