The construction of the Crestline K-12 building was officially completed Thursday night when the Board of Education approved closure of the construction fund.

With the closing of the fund a Certificate of Project Completion will be executed by Superintendent Noreen Mullins, and Treasurer Bradd Stevens. Once the construction project is closed Stevens must dispose of the remaining funds according to Ohio Revised Code.

Mullins explained that they hope the district is able to hang onto some of the leftover construction money.

“That part has yet to be determined. This is the first step in finding out. So hopefully it does, but we don’t know yet. ” Mullins said.

The Crestline school district will be able to still use the field house at the site of the old Hutson Stadium. Once the new Hutson Stadium was built, the district relinquished the property back to the Village of Crestline. As a result the school entered into an agreement with the village to use the field house on the property until 2099.

In Stevens treasurer’s report, he noted that district’s revenues for the month of January were $583,158 while expenses for the month were $841,249. That left the district with an ending balance for the month of $4,385,966.

The Crestline school board approved accepting two $1,000 donations Thursday night. Raymond McCaffrey donated $1,000 to the music department, and the Athletic Boosters donated $1,000 for the portable toilets during the football season.

The school board approved fall sports coaches Kevin Sipes for football, Dorothy Cory for volleyball and Bill Christman for cross country for the next school year. Also approved were the contracts for Robert Yockey, and Kyle Robey

Third grade students led board members in the Pledge of Allegiance and gave a short play on Goldie Locks Returns, and sang songs that helped with multiplication tables.
