“Going once, going twice . . . . . and gone to the highest bidder” will be the final farewell for the old Hutson Stadium on East Livingston Avenue in Crestline. It was announced at the monthly Crestline school board meeting that the property which is no longer used by the school district will be auctioned off on Nov. 1.

The auction will be held at the property and begins at 8 a.m. that day. The property is currently valued at $10,000.

The district had been in discussion with potential buyers who requested an easement from the city due to the stadium’s adjacent location to a city park. However, the Village Council rejected that request last month citing a financial liability should any buyer fail to follow through with necessary renovations which could include demolition of the old stadium and asbestos abatement.
