As the fiscal year comes to a close this week, so did elementary principal Melisa Stone-Watters’ time with the Crestline school district.

The Crestline Board of Education held a special meeting Monday where they accepted the resignation of Stone-Watters, who will be taking a position with the Galion City School District.

“She did a great job here,” said board member James Glauer.

The board also accepted the concession stand and restrooms building project as a gift from the Crestline Boosters. The resolution stated that the project could not be fully funded by the school district. Instead, the board accepted it as a gift with current and future monies raised for the project by the group to be transferred to the district.

The boosters have $90,000 in pledges toward the project, which has an estimated cost of $220,000. Fundraising was delayed for a few months due to ongoing delays with the architect.
