The following news release was issued by the Crestline Police Department
The Crestline Police Department took a report of a possible scam over the weekend. An out-of-state asphalt sealing company approached the victim about sealing his driveway. When the job was finished, the company billed the victim for thousands of dollars, when the job should have been completed for a few hundred.
We remind the public to use caution when dealing with out-of-state companies, especially the ones that come to you soliciting business. Ask questions, ask for references, and make sure you know the price before the service is started.
If anyone has had business dealing with an out-of-state company offering to seal driveways this spring, please contact the Crestline Police Department at 419-683-2222.
