CRESTLINE—Crestline Police Chief Jeff Shook Is proud to announce the recipients of the 2020-2021 departmental awards presented yearly for outstanding service to the department and the citizens of Crestline.
“We are proud to announce that 911 Dispatcher Renae Foit has been given this award for 2020 as Dispatcher of the Year and Detective Jason Kitzmiller awarded Officer of the Year for 2020,” said Shook in a press release on Wednesday.
He said the awards are based on exemplary service to the Village of Crestline, commitment to the Crestline Police Department and by a vote of their peers.
“Their professionalism, dedication, and loyalty have proven to be invaluable to our mission of public service,” said Shook.
Dispatcher Renae Foit has been in public service as a dispatcher for over 10 years and has been with the Village of Crestline office since tober of 2019. She is a 2010 graduate of the Bucyrus Secondary School and currently resides in Bucyrus with her husband Josh and their newborn child Scout.
Detective Jason Kitzmiller has been a police officer with the Village of Crestline since June of 2013. Jason is currently assigned as a detective with the department and represents the Crestline Police Department as a member of the U.S. Marshal’s task force and the Crawford County Special Response Team. He is a graduate of Shelby High School and currently lives locally in Crestline with his wife Kelsi, and their four children.
A short presentation was made at Village Hall on Tuesday and they were awarded plaques provided by the Crestline Lions Club.
“The Lions Club awards these plaques as part of their yearly appreciation for first responders and we are thankful for their loyalty to the Police and Fire Departments,” said Shook. “Additionally, the Crestline Police Department would like to congratulate firefighter Kyle Johnson for being awarded the Firefighter of the Year award for the Village of Crestline in 2020-21.”
