BUCYRUS—Charles Stevens, 27, of Crestline, appeared in Crawford County Common

Pleas Court for a bond revocation hearing. Stevens had been free on a personal recognizance bond after he was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention center, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison, and one count of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree punishable with up to 12 months in prison.

A warrant was issued for Stevens’ arrest on the community control violation on September 23 after he was arrested on an alleged fourth OVI by Crestline Police. He was also driving the vehicle while under an OVI-related driver’s license suspension.

According to allegations, Stevens was at a gas station/convenience store when a clerk observed his behavior as impaired and called the police.

Probation Officer Eric Bohach went to the jail to ask Stevens to take a drug test which he refused.

Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold revoked Stevens’ personal recognizance bond and set a new bond at $50,000.00. He ordered the matter set for a full hearing and appointed attorney Emily Beckley to represent him.

In other court news, Shannon Keenan, 32, of Galion, appeared on allegations she violated the terms and conditions of her community control.

According to probation officer Kylie Sinclair, Keenan changed her address without notifying her supervising officer and failed to report for office visits.

Judge Leuthold ordered the matter set for a full hearing. She was given a personal recognizance bond, and attorney Emily Beckley was appointed to represent her.

John Howard, 30, of Galion failed to appear for a pretrial on charges of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to twelve months in prison. Howard tested negative at his court appearance on Monday. Judge Leuthold revoked the personal recognizance bond and issued a new bond of $5000. Howard is to drug test weekly as a condition of his bond.
