The proposed trash rate increase for Crestline was sent back to committee for discussion Monday night after confusion in the Village Council meeting over which reading the ordinance was on.
The ordinance that would have raised residential trash hauling rates from $20 to $22 per month was sent back to committee after confusion among council members whether the ordinance was on its second or third reading.
Kurtzman Sanitation owner Louie Kurtzman requested for the increase due to the fee increases at the Crawford County Landfill, and that Crawford County trash haulers must use the county’s landfill.
Crestline residents Roger Lozer and Dave Duncan spoke against the increase on Monday.
