Crestline Village Council decided to hold off voting on the proposed trash rate increase until the next council meeting.

While council will be waiting until next month to vote, two members of the community spoke out in opposition of the rate hike. Dave Duncan and Rodger Lozier disputed the necessity of the increase. Resident Tony Dotson noted that with increases in cable, utilities, and other household expenses that the $2 trash rate increase didn’t seem out of control.

The trash rate increase ordinance, which would raise rates from $20 per month to $22 per month, was requested by Louie Kurtzman due to the increase in rates at the Crawford County Landfill.

Also during Monday’s meeting council held four first readings for legislature.
