CRESTLINE—A motion to approve an interim village administrator to replace John Rostash who resigned from the position several weeks ago failed to be passed as an emergency during the Crestline Village Council meeting Monday evening.

The resolution to approve Mayor Linda Horning Pitt’s appointment of Michael Scott for the temporary position was held to a first reading after a motion to approve the resolution as an emergency was met by silence from council members.

An ordinance to allow the mayor and fiscal officer to enter into an agreement with Medical Mutual for village employee health insurance coverage was passed as an emergency.

Ordinances regarding the increase of fees for water meter testing services and the editing of the village’s codified ordinances were held to first readings.

The next council meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 at Crestline Village Hall.
