CRESTLINE—The Crestline Community Development Team is currently accepting donations to reach their goal of $15,000 to spruce up all Crestline Parks. You can donate by clicking here.

According to Crestline Village Administrator Corey Spackey during the council meeting Monday evening, someone has broken the handrails from the concrete so the Kelly Park Bridge is currently barricaded.

“Mr. Eckert, myself and Officer Bush were there on Friday night and put tape up until the Service Department could get barricades in place.  On Saturday morning, I retrieved the barricades from the creek where someone had obviously thrown them in,” said Spackey.

He said the bridge is also in rough shape and will be added to the discussion list of possible projects for fixing, replacing or removing.

“It is in rough shape,” said Spackey.

He also provided an update to council members on the progress of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Park Road Pump Station.

“As discussed at the last utility meeting, a proposed change to the force main was discussed moving it from Park Road to the fields behind and up Helen Avenue.  Due to potential issues with funding and wetlands, this avenue will not work as there are just too many potential concerns,” said Spackey.

He said the other option is to explore the alleyway off Maple Drive to avoid tearing up Park Road.

“Prime is evaluating the possibility of this option and as soon as I get a response back, I will update everyone,” said Spackey. “They did walk the alleyway when they were here last week.”

The council approved a resolution allowing Mayor Linda Horning Pitt and Spackey to be the representatives for the village on the Crawford County Tax Incentive Review Council.

The next council meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 17 at the Crestline Village Hall.
