One local business certainly knows how to cater to its customers and those customers definitely take notice.
Motorcyclists participated in Ridin’ On Motorcycle Magazine’s Ride ‘N’ Roll run this past summer. Riders were able to visit 180 stops scattered across Ohio, including the Crazy Fox Saloon in Bucyrus, throughout the summer. The points contest ended on Oct. 1 and the motorcyclists voted the Crazy Fox as the top spot for the 2013 ride.
“I’m pretty proud of this,” said owner Larry Williams. “Everybody voted me as the best spot.”
Williams was awarded the Top Spot plaque at the Ride ‘N’ Roll Winner Dinner this past weekend. Williams explained that the riders would stop at the various designated spots across Ohio and roll dice for points.
“The people vote which was the best, nicest bartenders and most unique place to go to and we was voted number one,” said a proud Williams. “Number one by a landslide.”
When the riders visited the Crazy Fox, Williams said they would meet them at the door and show the riders the whole building as well as the speakeasy and explain its history.
“They always come back with more people,” Williams said. “It’s a great thing for me; I love it. It’s one of the highlights of owning this bar.”
“I love the bikers; I love all of my customers,” Williams said. “I love my job. I cannot wait to get to work in the morning.”
As a teenager, Williams used to deliver the newspaper to the bar and always dreamed of owning a bar. Williams and a friend bought the bar and the hotel 36 years ago. Now, he is living his dream.
“I never thought I’d have a bar as nice as this,” Williams said.
