Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting two summer day camps this year.
Conservation Camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 at Aumiller Park, Bucyrus. Children ages 6 – 11 can join in for a day of nature and conservation fun. They will be able to catch bugs in the stream; hike through the woods in search of animals, tracks, trees and more; catch and identify insects; and make a leaf ID guide and insect observation container.
Farmer for a Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 26 at Pfeifer Dairy Farm, 2348 Shafer Rd., Bucyrus. Children ages 6 – 11 will be able to bottle feed calves, tour the farm, see how cows are milked, and make experiments using farm products.
Registration for each camp will be open to the first 30 registrants. Registration deadline for each camp will be June 5, or until all spaces are full.
There is a $20 registration fee for each camp, which will cover camp t-shirt, crafts, and lunch. Lunch will be pizza, chips, fruit, and lemonade.
