BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will host an evening pasture walk on Thursday, June 12, 2025, for area farmers and landowners interested in grazing.

The event is designed for both beginners and experienced grazers looking to learn how to start grazing, improve their current strategies, or develop pasture management skills.

ODA State Grazing Specialist, Jarrod Hittle, and Nutrient Management and Grazing Technician for Crawford, Marion and Wyandot SWCD, Hannah Ziegler, will lead the discussion. Topics covered will include rotational grazing strategies for all levels, equipment such as fencing and chargers, forage identification, the importance of water sources, and more.

The pasture walk will take place at Brad and Christine Stahl’s Farm, located at 2099 Temple Road, Bucyrus, OH 44820. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a light meal, followed by the pasture walk.

Organizers encourage attendees to dress appropriately for the weather and field conditions, as the event will be a hands-on learning opportunity.
