The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a cover crop workshop and field tour on April 3, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Galion Public Library in Galion.

The featured speaker is Cody Beacom of Bird Agronomics who will discuss cover crops and soil health. His presentation will be followed by a bus tour to cover crop sites in the area.

This is great opportunity to learn more about cover crops and see the effects they have on soil health in the field. Participants will have the opportunity to talk to farmers with experience in cover crops on their operation. A free lunch will be provided for participants who register before the April 1st deadline.

This program is being sponsored by the Crawford SWCD, Bird Agronomics, the Sandusky River Watershed Coalition and the Olentangy Watershed Alliance. To register or for more information contact the Crawford SWCD at 419-562 8280.
