The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a pond clinic on Wednesday June 29 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. It will be at the Mike and Andrea Stump pond at 2805 Shearer Road, Bucyrus Ohio. The event will be held rain or shine. Remember to bring your lawn chairs. Please call the Crawford Soil and Water Office at 419-562-8280 extension 3 by June 27th to register.

The evening will begin with a light meal provided by Whetstone Go-Getters 4-H Club from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Crawford SWCD program administrator Mike Hall will give an overview of pond site selection and construction. The Ohio State University Aquatic Ecosystems program director Eugene Braig will round out the evening with his presentation on pond management, fish stocking, aquatic plants and nuisance wildlife. Time is allotted for individual’s to ask both speakers specific questions and management difficulties or concerns. Individuals are welcome to bring pond weeds in a jar of water for identification.
