Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District will sponsor full scholarships ($375) for two high school students to attend the Ohio Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Camp this summer.
The one-week resident camp is at FFA Camp Muskingum in Carroll County, June 11 – 16, 2017. The camp is for high school students entering their freshman year through seniors graduating in 2017. The Ohio Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Camp combines fun and learning, with the goal of reaching the next generation of caretakers of Ohio’s valuable natural resources. Programs at this year’s camp include: tree identification, wildlife management, ecology, forest management, songbirds, archaeology, forest industries and stream monitoring, along with many others.
To apply, print and fill out the scholarship application and complete a one page or less summary of why you would like to attend and mail to: Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District, 3111 State Route 98, Bucyrus, OH 44820. You will be asked to pay a $50.00 refundable deposit that you will receive back after attending and reporting on your experience at a Crawford SWCD monthly Board Meeting. The deadline to apply is April 28, 2017.
