Plan now to attend the Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District’s 69th annual meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds Youth Building in Bucyrus. Dinner tickets are on sale now for $10.00 and must be reserved by September 2nd.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the supervisor election. The charbroiled pork chop dinner catered by Port-a-Cook, back by popular request, will begin at 6:30 p.m. The evening’s featured speaker Dave White discussing how we build trust in food, farm and ag issues.
Additional items on the agenda will include the SWCD conservation slide show; the outstanding cooperator award sponsored by Ag Credit and affiliate members recognition.
David White, a native of Paoli, Indiana, and a proud graduate of Purdue University (BoilerUp!), was raised on a diversified livestock farm that has been in his family since 1824. David has served on the staff of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation since 1989. White served Ohio Farm Bureau as senior director for policy research and development, director of commodity relations and organization director. He was the first executive director of the Ohio Livestock Coalition, which was created in 1997 to help expand the positive contributions of the livestock industry to the state of Ohio.
Most recently he served as senior director for issues management as a member of the Animal & Food Policy Team within the Public Policy Department. A graduate of Purdue University with a B. S. degree in agricultural education, White taught vocational agricultural education and served as an FFA Advisor for three years prior to moving to Ohio.
