Amanda Sheets took over as the operations manager of the Crawford Success Center last spring. She addressed the Bucyrus City Council Tuesday evening to inform them, along with the public, of an open house at the North Central State College branch on Thursday, Oct. 26.
Sheets said that a recent review she conducted of the programs offered at the Success Center reveals the same number of students are signing up each fall for classes.
“This is our third year in Bucyrus,” Sheets said.
Sheets said some of her current goals are to continue to offer entry-level coursework and to increase course offerings.
“We want to offer as many classes as possible so students can complete as much of their coursework as possible in Bucyrus towards their associate degree or certificate programs,” said Sheets.
The open house is from 6o to 8 p.m. Thursday and will feature a college credit plus presentation, college options for students in grades seven and up, financial aid, a program for students 60 and older to take classes for free and much more.
The Crawford Success Center is located at 130 N. Walnut St., in Bucyrus.
“This is a great opportunity for people to check out the college and talk with people,” said Sheets.
