BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is readying for a busy spring season with the return of its annual “manure meeting” and the launch of its popular tree and fish sales.
Despite the technical registration deadline having passed, SWCD representative Hannah confirmed the district is still accepting sign-ups for the seminar. This year’s event features a high-profile lineup, including soil health expert Dr. Christine Charles from Michigan State University and experts on agricultural AI technology and cover crops.
“Even if a producer doesn’t deal with manure, this is a great opportunity to hear from professionals from the agronomic side,” Hannah said during a recent Community Spotlight interview.
In addition to educational events, the district’s annual conservation sales are now live. This year’s tree sale features a diverse selection, including sassafras, dogwood, and various hardwoods. The spring fish sale features a new supplier, Ramblinger Fish, and a simplified “pre-packaged” pickup process that eliminates the need for buyers to bring their own water containers.
Both sales are open to the public, including residents outside Crawford County. For more information or to register for upcoming programs, residents can visit crawfordswcd.org or call 419-562-8280.
