The Crawford County Family and Children First Council and United Way of Crawford County have teamed up to encourage families to read to their kids.

The two organizations formed Crawford Reads 20, a county-wide literacy initiative that encourages everyone to read to a child for at least 20 minutes each day. Crawford Reads 20 has members from local schools, libraries, the health department, and concerned citizens.

Crawford Reads 20 will be holding a book drive throughout the month of April. The organization will be collecting new and gently used books in preparation for a book distribution this summer at summer meal sites in the county. Books can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Bucyrus City Schools
  • Community Counseling Services
  • Crawford Public Health Department
